Connor William Herron

Connor Herron received his B.S. degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in May 2020. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Terrestrial Robotics Engineering and Controls (TREC) Laboratory at Virginia Tech developing hardware and control algorithms for humanoid robots and exoskeletons. In Fall 2020, Connor began his PhD studies in high-level control of humanoid robots at Virginia Tech under Dr. Alexander Leonessa. During his PhD studies, he has developed the low-level joint torque control for TREC's upcoming humanoid robot, PANDORA, and studied virtual contact models for haptic feedback.  In Summer 2022, Connor visited the Italian Institute of Technology to study the retargeting approach of the Telexistence platform under supervision of Dr. Daniele Pucci.
